First Impressions of Random Steam Games (September 2024) #1

This series will focus on games that aren’t MMORPGs, given I already have a series for that genre. Let’s check out 10 random Steam games and see how they fare.

Survival in Africa is one of two games released by “Mambo” on Steam. The other game is called Mind Weaver and was released on September 1st, 2024. Mind Weaver has three total reviews, with only one positive. Survival in Africa’s reviews are better, with 59 reviews resulting in a Mixed (54%) score. The positive reviews seem to be mostly meme reviews with a few “this game has potential but it’s nothing yet” style reviews.

This is rubbish. A few different animals with horrible AI, poor hit detection, one map, and no real objectives or gameplay loop. It’s an asset flip that lacks anything resembling a game. It’s free but your time has more value than to play this nonsense.

Archipelago is a pirate game published by Conglomerate 5, a serial asset flipper and Steam scammer. The developer “Tort” has five total games listed, with the review scores being mixed to mostly positive. The reviews are a mixture of memes and other rubbish with very few serious reviews, making the 71% positive for this title an invalid metric for assessing it’s quality.
