Apparently I didn’t Survive The Island — XO Games Banned Me for “Being a Fanboy”

I awoke to a strangely high amount of engagement on my Steam and YouTube accounts. “Uh oh.. what now?” was my initial thought. It wasn’t so much a spike in lots of unique people checking out my content, but one person checking out a lot of content repeatedly. XO Games has returned already!

Apparently his need for attention, even if of the negative variety, was not met quickly enough, so he banned me from the island:

I knew this was coming. Hostile, unhinged, and lazy creators often don’t want criticism. If this developer had uploaded 3 games with any significant changes, I’d be more apt to offer assistance.

I did offer help to this never-uses-shift-key fellow before. I received a homophobic remark in reply. It’s all packaged up as a gift-nobody-wants and sent over to Valve. Let’s review his other two titles to see if they are unique contributions to the gaming world or simply just more cases of hastily uploading someone else’s work to make a stack of big dogs.

One might say, “Hey! At least he ain’t sellin’ drugs!”, but in the drug scenario, at least there’s a potentially viable product being exchanged for the money.

FUN platformer

XO Games uploaded a template for making 2D platformers as a complete game here. Just a template. $1.99 for a compiled game template, so none of the benefits of a template (i.e. the ability to build your own game from it) but you do get to jump around a basic map for a few minutes. Even at $1.99, it’s not worth it.
